• Tech Agency announces Open House for Vendors’ Budget Saving Ideas

    April 8th, 2011 by admin Categories: Blogs Tags: , , , , , ,

This week the California Technology Agency announced that it will hold an Open House April 27th to provide vendors with 15 minutes of fame to provide “innovative ideas and solutions” as to how the state can “balance its budget and overhaul its technology infrastructure”. Overwhelmingly popular, registration this morning was already limited to the waiting list.

According to Acting State CIO Christy Quinlan, “The Technology Agency is always looking for ways to faciliate better communication with our private-sector partners. We look forward to hearing innovative ideas that will save costs and increase the efficiency of government operations.”

    I can’t wait to go.

Technology Agency to Hold IT Vendor Open House

In an effort to promote innovation and creative problem solving as the state works to balance its budget and overhaul its technology infrastructure, the Technology Agency is reaching out to our vendor partners for innovative ideas and solutions. On April 27, 2011, we will host an Open House to provide the vendor community an opportunity to participate in 15 minute pitch meetings with key staff from the California Technology Agency and other state agencies.

Vendors should be prepared to present opportunities to save costs or resolve problems that will help California’s state government operate more efficiently. These meetings are not an opportunity to discuss ongoing procurements or confidential intellectual property requiring the state to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. Open House timeslots will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis to those who register online here
