• IT Vendor Open House for cost saving ideas a big hit.

    Some 26 companies enthusiastically took part in the State of California’s first IT Vendor Open House yesterday where they were given the opportunity to respond to the state’s request for budget saving IT initiatives. Acting State CIO Christy Quinlan had earlier remarked that, “The Technology Agency is always looking for ways to faciliate better communication with our private-sector partners. We look forward to hearing innovative ideas that will save costs and increase the efficiency of government operations.”

    While further details and results are being tabulated, the state IT leadership panels who listened to the vendor pitches will be selecting the most promising for more comprehensive follow-up over the next several weeks.
