    Texas doctor, 6 others charged in $350 million home health care Medicare fraud:

    A Dallas-area doctor and his office assistant along with five owners of Texas home health agencies have been charged in what federal authorities called Tuesday the largest such case in history, a “well-oiled” machine that submitted $375 million in bogus Medicare¬†billings.

    The case involves 11,000 home health care patients and 500 home health care agencies over a nearly six-year period. The alleged scheme included suspected kickback payments to patient recruiters, the use of offshore banking accounts to hide Medicare cash and secret pacts with home health care owners.
